Tamarisk Flower Candy

1 cup tamarisk flowers
1/2 cup honey
1 cup coconut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup finely ground almonds

Warm the coconut butter and honey together until melted.  Add vanilla, almonds and tamarisk flowers.  Form into tiny balls.  Place in refrigerator overnight or in the freezer for an hour.  Serve chilled and enjoy this melt-in-your-mouth sweet treat.

Recipe courtesy of Katrina Blair, Turtle Lake Refuge, Durango, CO.

NOTE: Before you harvest flowers, please make sure that the tree has not been sprayed!
